Carl Howard and the SpringHill Band
For more than 25 years, Carl Howard has performed on the club and coffee house circuit with his friends Mike Castles and
Michael O'Malley. They have enjoyed a friendship and countless hours of performing together, during which they have had the
pleasure to share the stage with such musicians as John Hawken, former keyboard player with Renaissance, and Steve Hayden,
the current
SpringHill Band bass player.
Carl's music reflects the pleasure and pain around him. His style is a combination of folk, rock, and alternative, and Carl has been
compared to a variety of artists such as James Taylor, Ian Anderson, and Cat Stevens.
His first CD, Ordinary Man (recorded with the help of Mike Castles, Frank Belardino, and the band C. Jane Run), addresses
some of the key relationships and experiences that have touched his life. The next release, Confession, shows the growth of their
studio capapbiltiy
and demonstrates the band's ever-tightening performance ability.
Carl, Mike Castles, and C. Jane Run have opened for Eddie Money, Blue Oyster Cult, and Marshal Tucker. They also appeared
at the 30th Anniversary Festival of the Summer of Love at Golden Gate Park.
